I am here

We used to travel extensively. Weekends for leisure and weekdays for work. We also used to work like dogs...80-hr week was a common theme. That all came to a stop when I found out I was pregnant with bebis. Seems so long ago.

Ever since bebis was born, I took an extended leave of absence and decided to stay home. Work can always wait, I figure. I wouldn't want to miss bebis' first smile, the first words, the first crawl, etc...wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.

Those who have known me for a long time were (and still are) surprised by my decision to stay home. "You'd go crazy!" said some. "It's very tough!" said the others. Well, have I been known to do things the easy way? I quite enjoy it. Yes, he is a handful especially because he has so much energy. But that's ok. Much rather have an active and smiley baby than a round blob.

So here is our journey...

It's been a while

It's been a while...and quite a bit has changed since then.

We went to Istanbul for three weeks. Bebis' eczema had drastically improved while we were there. The strict diet (elimination of all known allergens) had helped a great deal. I also lost quite a bit of weight, which was a fortunate side effect of the unfortunate situation. Not only did I not fit into the pants that I brought, I also had trouble hanging on to the new ones that I bought while there! :)

We did a trial with soft cheese. Didn't work...with minor flare up. So we had to abort, and his skin was back to baby soft.

The flight back was interesting. Since we were back to family of three (instead of traveling with my parents), we didn't have as much help. And since it was a morning flight, bebis was so full of energy that he barely slept. Oh well, at least he was not cranky or crying...guess it could have been worse?

Did more research and found more recipes and ingredients that we could try. Ordered some more products online. Let's see how that goes.

One really good thing coming out from this trip was that bebis became more sociable (or is that just a coincidence with the timing of the development?). He smiles more at strangers (before he used to frown or cry every single time). He even reaches out to people that he does not know. And he is developing quite a character. Strong willed, and vocal. Wonder where he gets that from?
